A child's story, with lessons for ALL ages... This book is a wonderful allegory, a children's book with a major theme that applies to people (and perhaps sloths) of all ages. The story is built around a sloth who chooses to focus, not on what he does NOT have or what he can NOT do, but rather on what he is going to do with what he DOES have. The text is unusually "dense" for a children's book, so may be challenging for a beginning reader to tackle on her own; however, it is easy to see this becoming a classic within a family, where the child has it read TO him at an early age, and then BY her/him as the child grows into maturity, building on the reading experience with examples and experiences of their own.
